Cornelius Organ of Kent, New York, was private in regiment of Colonel Moylan of Penn. line for three years. Inscribed on roll of New York at rate of 8 dollars per month, to commence, 6 May 1818. Certificate of pension issued 30 Sept 181?, and sent to Harry Garrison, Philips Town, Putnam County, NY. Arrears to 4th of Sept 1819, ending 4 March 1820. "Dead"
9 June 1852, came Mary Wright, aged 60, of town of Fishkill in Dutchess County, NY, says that her first husband was William Organ, son of Cornelius and Rachel Organ. Cornelius Organ was Revolutionary pensioner and died on 6 Oct 1818. William Organ died 4 Dec 1872, aged 40 years, 3 months, 3 days. Rachel Organ remained Cornelius' widow until her death 18 Sept 1836.
Only living children are Mary who married Jesse Cole and resides in Kent, Putnam Co, NY; Esther who married Abijah Youmons and resides in Philipstown, Putnam Co, NY; Sally or Sarah who married Gilbert Shaw and resides in Peeksill, Westchester Co, NY; Reuben who resides in Philipstown; Racheal who married Hiram Cole and resides in ton of Poultney, Steuben Co, NY; Elizabeth who married Nathaniel Nichols and resides in town of Putnam Valley, Putnam Co,

In 1776 in 4th Virginia Regt. in company commanded by John Brent, brigade of Gen. Scott. In Dec 1778, enlisted in company of Capt. John Herd of first troop in Col. Mitlen's Regt. of Horse and served for 3 years. In Battle of Brandywine, 14 Sept 1777 and Battle of Germantown, 4 Oct 1777. Honorably discharged at Lancaster, PA. Signed: Cornelius-x-Organ

Mary Cole, a resident of Kent, aged 65; Esther Youmans, resident of Phillipstown, aged 62; Sally Shaw, resident of Courtlandt, Westchester County,aged 60; Reuben Organ, resident of Phillipstown, aged 56; Rachael Cole,resident of Poultney, Steuben County, aged 53; Betsy Nichols, resident of Putnam VAlley, aged 50; declare that they are the only living children of Cornelius & Rachel Organ. They state that their parents married in April or May 1782 before the last period of service in the War. Cornelius Organ died at Kent 6 Oct 1818. Rachel died at Kent, 18 Sept 1836.
