Peter MAJORS
Prior to the creation of Carroll County, Maryland, in 1837, the boundary line between Baltimore and Frederick Counties ran through the Westminster area, and the Majors properties fell on both sides of the boundary line; hence, the reason for some of their land records being in Baltimore County and some in Frederick County (after Frederick County was created in 1748).
