"William LISINGER, born in 1805, has always resided in this county. He learned shoemaking in Everett, and in 1837 settled in Ray's Hill, where he has since carried on his trade in connection with farming. Mr. LISINGER states that when he came to his present home, there were nearly a dozen taverns between his house and Everett; now there are none. Two of Mr. LISINGER's sons, George and John, were in the late war. George was taken prisoner, and starved in a rebel prison at Salisbury, North Carolina. John is now in Ohio."
