"LOMERSON.  This name is variously spelled, as Lomerson, Lammason, Lamersen, It is said to have been originally Lamberson and of Holland origin."
p. 446:
"Lawrence LOMERSON appears on the records at Flemington as early as 1753; was 2d Lieut. Of Capt. Mackay's Co., First Regiment of Sussex Co., in the Revolutionary War. He bought land near Mt. Bethel in Penn.; his descendants live in the vicinity of Belvidere, m. --, had ch.:
I. THOMAS, m. Hannah Ney.
II. ANDREW, m. Christian Smith.
III. LOURENCE, m. Betsey Fox.
IV. JANE, m. Michael Ney.
V. CHARITY, m. a Butler."

  "Lawrence LOMASON, who served as a Second Lieutenant in Captain Mackey's Company of the First Sussex Co., N.J., Militia in the War of the American Revolution (Bib.-196) on the 27th of May, 1795, bought from Derick and Rebecca Law 229 acres of land in Lower Mount Bethel Township, Northampton Co., Pa.  He died before Dec. 11, 1810, when his widow Bridget LOMASON, and other heirs, executed a release pertaining to these lands to Andrew LOMASON and his brother, Lawrence LOMASON, Jr.  Lawrence LOMASON, Sr., is said to have been married to Bridget VAN NATTA (Van Netta, Van Netten).  His heirs named in the release of Dec. 11, 1810, are his widow, Bridget, and the following named children: 1. Thomas (see later); 2. Jane, married to Michael Nie (Ney, Neigh) of Lower Mount Bethel Township, Northampton Co., Pa.; 3. Charity, married to Simon BUTLER, also of Lower Mount Bethel; 4. Andrew; 5. Lawrence, Jr., married to Elizabeth Shoemaker."
  "Lawrence LOMASON, Sr., the founder of this family, was a resident and a Federal Taxpayer in Mount Bethel Township, Northampton Co., Pa., in 1772 (Bib.-17), and in 1786 owned 230 acres of land there.  In 1790 he had in family living at home, himself, three males under 16 and two femals. (Bib.-10.)"
