to beloved wife Frances GREEN, whole of my landed estates, stock, farming utensils, household and kitchen furnature and crops of grain, during her natural life, also one negro boy named Humphrey to serve until December 1836, also one negro boy named Henderson to serve until December 1840, one negro girl named Sophia to serve until December 1838; at each of these dates, above named negroes shall be emanicpated and set free;
also to wife the following young negroes which are children of above named Sophia: to wit, Cyrus, Jane, & Loyd;
if wife should die, then proceeds of hire to be equally divided among my children, allowing the children of my deceased daughter Lucy Evans the part that would of been their mothers;
my negro man Elijah to be set free immediately after my decease;
to my daughter Sally GREEN, one horse of the value of $75 also the sum of $100 in cash over and above what I herafter give her;
at the decease of my wife, whole of my estate shall be sold and money to be divided among my children as follows:  to my sons William GREEN, John GREEN, Stephen GREEN and Martin G. GREEN and to my daughters Ann Hopper, Rhoda Markland, Jemima SCOTT, Frances White, Sally GREEN, Eliza SCOTT and the children of my deceased daughter Lucy Evans, each $200 provided my estate shall amount to that sum, otherwise they shall receive in proportion; if my estate shall exceed that sum, the overplus to be equally divided among all my children always allowing the children of my deceased daughter Lucy Evans one share, the part that would have been their mothers.

  The 1810 Madison County, KY, Census showed William Green as age 26-45, which would make for a birth year range of 1765-1784.  William Green's daughter Mary (Polly) married Woodson Clark in Madison County, KY, in 1801, so she must have been born no later than 1785, and thus William must have been born no later than about 1765.
