THE FISHER FAMILY by B. Van Doren FISHER:
Old graveyard at Larison's Corners, Hunterdon Co, NJ: Peter FISHER. Was in New Jersey by 1725. Wife's name Maria. Settled first in Somerset Co, NJ, until 1730 when he purchased a farm about a half mile west of Rocktown, still owned by one of his descendants.
Deed dated 30 Mar 1730, Thomas --- of Amwell Township, yeoman, to Peter FISHER, of Somerset County, yeoman, for 13 pounds, 200 acres.
Peter FISHER had eight children:
1) Anthony, baptized 14 Nov 1725, Readington church, married Elisabeth Snyder, settled west of Mount Airy. He died 31 May 1800, buried at Larison's Corners. Issue: John, Christopher, Jacob, Tunis, Joseph, Mary, Margaret, Elisabeth.
2) John Wilhelm, baptized 16 Apr 1727, married (1) Charity Young and had three children, (2) Charity Youngblood and had five children. Settled on farm near Wertsville. Issue: Peter, Mary, Elisabeth, William.
3) Elizabeth, baptized 8 June 1729 [married -- Bells, Issue: Philip, Peter, Mary; p. 584]
4) Christopher, settled near Van Liew's Corner, had son Christopher and several daughters.
5) John, married a Miss Kuhl and moved to Pennsylvania.
6) Peter, killed young.
7) Jacob, married Sarah Hoppock and had six children.
