Descendants of Michael CROWL (ca 1743-1807)
Notes
1.
Michael CROWL
Henry Crowl wrote in CROWEL HISTORY: FOOTPRINTS IN THE SANDS OF TIME, 1899, p. 12: "As it appears on the records Michael Crowel, Sr., and Barbara, his wife, had nine children; four boys and five girls, viz: John, David, Michael and George, Elizabeth, Mary, Rebecca, Rachel and Catherine. Elizabeth married John Randall, Rebecca married John C. Krall, Catherine married Benjamin Myerly. As to Mary and Rachel I have no history."
CROWL CONNECTIONS (edited by Gail Komar, gkomar at gotmc dot net), Vol. 8, no. 2, reports that Rachel CROWL can be found in the 1860 Carroll County, MD, Census, living with Eliza Nicodemus. This is incorrect, however, as the person enumerated there is Rachel Crout. Rachel Crout can also be found in the 1850 Carroll County, MD, Census.
Many of the events for this family are found in the records of Kreider's Church at Westminster, which is in current-day Carroll County, MD. Carroll County was created from Frederick County in 1837. Thus, records for this location are listed as Frederick County prior to 1837.
